Moss Carder Bees

As with all carder bees, these pollinators are covered in ginger hairs, which makes it easier to distinguish them from other bumblebee species. Moss carder bees have light brown bands across their abdomens.

These rare bumblebees are more commonly spotted in northern England and Scotland, especially in grassland hugs the coastline. Moss carder bees colonise holes in trees or empty bird boxes.
